Z3 - 209 accident

Just to add Z3 - 209 had a minor accident with a BMW on the corner of Market Street And flinders On the 30th December 2006 while running a 55 to west coburg





No damage to the tram but the BMW had a nasty hole in the side of it where the bumper intruded

Z3.209 was also the victim of a tram vs. car accident on January 29th. 209 came into contact with a Lexus 4WD at Williamsons Rd Maribyrnong just before turning into the ballasted section of route 82 (note that the tram physically couldn't go 'straight' as the rails turn off the road here). 209 derailed and came to a halt on the other side of the road conveniently at a bus stop of all things, and flipped its panto once the wires vanished from above.

209 was dragged back to the rails by R10 and helped back to the depot by Z3.158. The Age has a video of the trams coupled, and the Maribyrnong Leader has a few photos online of the tram parked at the bus stop.
