It was at platform 13 interpeak and went to Burnley at roughly 3:00pm.
It has full Metro livery, the 16 pixel high PIDs, front and side destos which are also in 1M....4M, and now both 855M and 856M have ramp lockers.

Before that it was on Platform 1 West for driver training. Came in on the alleged 8.46 arrival from Hurstbridge (a good 10 late, which arrived on Platform 14 today) & it was sitting; staring at us from the other end of that platform.

Cheers, Lachlan.

Nextrapolis (I like that!) 1M & Co. was on the 15.25 Down Greensborough today. Nice ride, of interest is the fact that the Automatic Announcements did not give an indication of express running, nor say "The next station is…", just "Clifton Hill. Change here for services to Epping." Also of interest was "The next station is Greensborough, this train will be terminated at Greensborough." It continued into service running the 16.18 Up Greensborough, thus was not terminated at all. Or am I thinking exterminated. Hmm…

Cheers, Lachlan.

You're thinking exterminated. The 1525 down Greensborough service was terminated at Greensborough, as one may expect. Then, the 1618 Up Greensborough was formed.

I drove 1M and co on a Blackburn run the other day. May have been yesterday?

After that it went to Glen Waverley (I rode there and back) and then to Belgrave.
When I heard that it "will be terminated at Glen Waverley" I thought "If I see Arnold Schwarzenegger around here I'd better get off and run."
While approaching Burnley from both directions the announcement was "Burnley, change here for Alamein services."

Hello to the Vicsig community! :D

There are pictures of the storm aftermath at Southern cross station at wongm's website gallery

http://wongm.railgeelong.com/southern-cross-station/

And also after leaving the steamrail open day on labour day I boarded a train out of North Williamstown and was very rapt to see something in the newport sidings as the comeng train travelled to newport station.

happy viewing of it, I wished I was able to stand right next to it but couldn't.

Wongm has a photo album of this new X'trapolis train.
You all have a better time viewing more detail of the new train on his gallery

I can't believe they store the new X'Traps on unwired roads. X'Traps are an utter pain in the buttocks to deal with when their batteries drain, including when you have to haul them with a diesel loco. Without batteries you can't release the brakes.

I believe they have a diesel loco there expressly for that purpose.

And as I said, without batteries or a specific power van, a diesel loco is extremely useless to haul an X'Trap.

I am not sure that the images I provided are the second X'trapolis or the third. I decided to study the surroundings a bit more in the picture and noticed the yellow rail ramp behind it.

So I end up wondering if it could be the third, but what is the state of the third X'trapolis. Is it still on a ship here from Chile?

True, I have not been close enough to confirm - maybe both loco and van? :p

For all we know it was deliberately de-powered to test how long it took to run flat....

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but where are they going to keep the trains? Obviously they can't be recharged all the time…

I've been wondering the same thing for a while as well. There are various expansions to existing sidings going ahead as well as proposed new outstations, but not enough for 38 trains. And what about if with Metros plans to double patronage by 2020 then obviously we will need more trains again.

I think that it's half of N'XTrap three.
I seem to recall 5M....8M arriving in November and getting Metro livery before Frailpage went into a coma.
As for where to stable the new sparks, I recommend Tottenham Yard.
